    How you will impact Ingevity

    The Oilfield and Lubricants business technical director role will lead the innovation and technical service organization in the Oilfield and Lubricants business.  The role will work closely and collaboratively with the commercial teams so that the technical programs are in line with the business needs and strategies.

    • Serves as thought leader for innovation & technology integration into the business strategy – this is a critical foundation for our future success.
    • Proven experience in leading teams to create differentiated products to solve or advance our customers’ business through the focus on customers & markets.
    • Participates in alliance and development activities with key business partners. Understands value generation through problem solving using innovation & technology.
    • Unwavering steward of our commitment to Responsible Care, regulatory, safety, and overall product stewardship. Maintains close working relationship with manufacturing and sales & operations planning to uphold and improve the quality of our products.
    • Embraces leadership role with a passion for people development in technology organizations.
    • Provides technology voice and input on project reviews to drive success.

    What you need to succeed

    • PhD in Chemistry, or demonstration of strong technical acumen
    • 10+ years post-degree industrial experience
    • Knowledge of Specialty Chemicals
    • Ability to translate the performance of Ingevity products into customer valued benefits
    • Vision to connect customer unmet needs into product development projects
    • Ability to lead a diverse team of chemists
    • Strong commitment to and knowledge of safety and Responsible Care
    • Ability to work closely with our manufacturing plants and tollers to: introduce new products and processes, improve and troubleshoot existing products and processes.
    • 20% travel required domestic and internationally
