    How you will impact Ingevity

    • Operationally manage a portion of the rail fleet
    • Ensure railcars are positioned correctly including empties at raw material suppliers
    • Analyze railcar turns, lane by lane, to make decisions that will increase efficiency across the fleet
    • Become an expert in QTS, @ Plant Manager and other rail shipping platforms and technologies
    • Maintain communication with key railroad personnel to understand rail service macro drivers including weather, volume, etc.
    • Work hand in hand and act as a liaison to satisfy the Ingevity plants’ rail issues
    • Drive change through safety including researching and understanding best practices loading and unloading materials
    • Back up Rail Fleet Manager on vacations, travel, etc.

    What you need to succeed

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, or Engineering.
    • Preferred 5 years supply chain experience. Rail experience is highly preferred.
    • Understanding of rail movements and terminology including rule 11
    • Some mechanical and/or product knowledge preferred (valves, linings, hazardous materials, etc.)
    • Systems knowledge including SAP experience, QTS, @Plant Manager, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, are preferred.
    • 10% travel domestically
    • Ability to climb on railcars for inspection if needed
    • Understanding of safety regulations
    • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, for internal and external customers, railroads and peers
    • Candidate must be a team player and adapt well to a multitasking, fast paced environment with changing priorities and challenges.
