    How you will impact Ingevity

    As a member of Ingevity's Enterprise Field Services Team, you will be responsible for end user application & hardware support including PC workstations, printers/drivers, basic network & wireless troubleshooting, RF scanner support, server support and level II-III complexity resolution of trouble tickets while operating in a 24x7 office and manufacturing environment. In addition, you will provide advanced desk-side support, interfacing with a diverse user community and a variety of office, laboratory, and production equipment & personnel. This will include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, support, and control of critical technology infrastructure. As a member of the Field Services Team, you will provide hands-on support for Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, smart phones and wired/wireless network solutions.

     

    • Work in an ITIL-compliant Change Management environment, maintaining both personal and team SLA compliance.
    • May coach and direct others during short projects.
    • Participate in technology field trials.
    • Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction.
    • Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work to aid in the on-going support of technology assets in the enterprise, including installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting, and controlling critical infrastructure components.
    • Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands.
    • Remotely support projects that affect work sites in multiple cities and countries.
    • Develop and maintain credible and effective working relationships with plant management, engineering, maintenance and IT personnel in a way that demonstrates an understanding of business problems, IT strategies, issues, and priorities.
    • Work with local site resources to understand requirements and needs and work with IT Operations and Infrastructure to develop solutions.
    • Install and configure complex, third-party, networked, and site-specific applications.
    • Work primarily with technology assets including: single-user & networked desktop & laptop clients; network printers; network servers; switches & cabling; process control clients; small databases; smart phones and other technology assets.
    • Act as primary contact for critical local niche apps that are required to operate the business.
    • Conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.
    • Attend all scheduled safety, business and production meeting for supported site.
    • Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously.

    What you need to succeed

    • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or a minimum of five years of experience supporting end users, computers, software, networks and printers; strong IT/Help Desk/Networking skills; Technical certification, bachelor's degree or military experience is preferred.
    • Exceptional customer service skills required; ability to work with employees at all levels and communicate effectively.
    • Advanced experience configuring and troubleshooting personal computers including all aspects of hardware and software support in a multi operating system environment is a must.
    • Coordinate the needs of in-house IT experts and remote employees, vendors and contractors.
    • Experience working in a complex manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
    • Must be able to work and function with high availability while providing 24x7 on-call coverage and respond on-site within thirty minutes.
    • Able to work in a team environment and direct/support team members in resolution of issues; effective problem-solving skills.
    • Lead teams, activities and provide project leadership.
    • Overnight/extended Travel may be required up to 25%.
    • Identify projects that are designed to either add functionality required by the company or to address ongoing network failure issues.
    • Analyze the current network structure and submit comprehensive reports on how to make the network more efficient.
    • Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new LAN/WAN equipment.
    • Must be able to complete complex projects with minimal to no supervision.
    • Proven experience managing a large and complex network.
    • Strong safety record and a history of establishing safe work practices.
