    How you will impact Ingevity

     Our Industrial Specialties Division is searching for a bright and energetic Chemist who can support our Pine Chemical Business.  This position will require synthesizing and characterizing samples for customers using state-of-the-art analytical instrumentations, and collecting performance data on new and existing products, for SDS requests, sample C of A, and customer specific analytical inquiries.  Knowledge of analytical testing such as titration, viscosity measurements, GC, GCMS, HPLC, GPC etc. are important in this position. 


    • Be a leader in safety by working safely, following established protocol and develop new procedures to improve safe practices in our laboratories and production site.
    • Help to optimize our products for specific needs and use customer feedback to innovate product offerings.
    • Help to position our products based on end-use performance of our products in various applications through comparative analysis and testing.
    • Flourish in an environment where both independent work and team play are required.
    • Maintain records and documentation of evaluation activities, provide required reports.

    What you need to succeed

    • 0 to 2 years hands-on industry lab experience, and a minimum BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Knowledge of chemistry fundamentals, with hands-on synthesis and characterization/testing experience. 
    • Excellent communication of technical and operational activities verbally and in writing, with an ability to influence from a distance.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Previously demonstrated high levels of initiative, innovation, and analytical ability.
    • Experience related to Pine Chemicals industries is a plus.
