    How you will impact Ingevity

    As an Operational Analyst for the Plant Floor, you will provide IT and process engineering expertise to Ingevity combining people, process and technology. The position provide support for plant manufacturing systems in coordination with Ingevity strategic initiatives to drive business results. You will provide application of common standards, policies and methodologies, while working in close partnership with plant engineering, operational and other IT teams to maintain and support key plant operational systems. Reporting to the Manger, Plant Floor Systems, you will support plant manufacturing technology in harmony with IT cyber security and infrastructure teams. You’ll aid plant process engineering and operational teams in understanding and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports plant operational technology.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • In conjunction with IT organization and plant operations, you will
      • Oversee antivirus systems and applications for plant manufacturing systems
      • Support/coordinate/oversee OS patching on plant manufacturing systems
      • Ensure integrity of data and system backups for plant manufacturing systems
      • Help coordinate version upgrades for plant manufacturing systems
    • Act as liaison between IT networking teams and process engineering teams to enforce and implement process network designs.
    • Support the Industrial Control System (inclusive of Distributed control systems (DCS’s), Human machine interfaces (HMIs), Programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) architecture
    • Act as liaison between IT cyber security teams and process engineering teams to enforce and implement cyber security designs.
    • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for process data historian systems – OSIsoft Pi.
    • Coordinate process network user access with Active Directory administrators.
    • Perform life-cycle management for IT infrastructure used for plant manufacturing systems.
    • Working with local IT Field Service organization, provide thin-client support for plant operator workstations.
    • Working with local IT Field Service organization, provide support for client-based operational technology.
    • Be an advocate for best-practice IT infrastructure design for plant manufacturing systems.


    What you need to succeed

    • Associates or Bachelors’ degree in IT or engineering field.
    • Desired: experience with IT functions as described and/or experience with engineering process control systems – DCS, PLC, etc.
    • Familiarity of industry-specific standards (i.e. Purdue Model, NIST, ICS-CERT)
    • Experience with IT functions and/or engineering systems in an academic setting will be considered
    • The ability to learn and understand process engineering concepts and tools.
    • The ability to learn and apply general IT practices, and modify where needed, in context of manufacturing environment.
    • The ability to work with manufacturing stakeholders to schedule and deliver IT support.
    • Work safely in manufacturing environments.
    • Ability to play key roles in highly complex IT & engineering projects.
    • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication skills to support the collaboration with the business units in delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions.
    • Travel required up to 25% domestically.
