How you will impact Ingevity

The lab technician position will be will working within the Product Development team of the Performance Materials division.  The responsibilities of the position include lab experimental work, running pilot scale equipment, and running characterization tests.  The ability to quickly shift gears and work well within a team is highly important.  

  • Be a part of a dynamic team and help develop new products and new processes.
  • Utilize creative thinking and “out-side-the-box” problem solving to overcome obstacles
  • Add value to the R&D team by collaborating with Analysts, Process Development team and Automotive Application team.
  • Conduct experimental work and run pilot scale equipment that gathers critical information for understanding new materials and their properties.
  • Run characterization tests on activated carbon products.

What you need to succeed

  • High school diploma with a desire to conduct hands-on work.
  • Ability to work well and effectively within a diverse team.
  • Ability to organize tasks and plan ahead with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to operate in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong work ethic and show self-initiative starting tasks.
  • Hands-on experience in a materials or chemistry lab.

Preferred: 

  • Hands-on experience with pilot scale equipment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-based discipline.
