The Marketing Communications Coordinator assists Ingevity’s businesses in setting and meeting their marketing goals. In conjunction with the business unit directors, the coordinator develops and implements marketing communications programs and initiatives aimed at measurably driving profitable sales in the markets it serves. The coordinator will develop strong working partnerships with the business units by actively engaging them to gain an expert understanding of their industries, markets, customers and competition.

How you will impact Ingevity

  • Plans and executes the implementation and measurement of marketing communications plans and activities including advertising, trade shows, trade media relations and publicity, direct marketing, literature, electronic communications and other vehicles.
  • Develops advertising and literature by preparing strategic briefs and gaining business unit approvals.
  • Works closely with the Manager, Marketing Communications to develop the most effective creative solution and production methods for sales literature, collateral and advertising.
  • Manages internal and external resources necessary to implement marketing communications plans and tactics on behalf of business units.
  • Manages trade show coordination and management services; coordinates the development and production of booth and display design and logistics; develops press material for use at the show, generates pre-show publicity, and stimulates press interest in covering Ingevity at the show.
  • Attends sales meetings, technical seminars, trade shows and job sites to develop an expert understanding of the businesses and the markets they service.
  • Enhances Ingevity’s presence in trade media by writing news releases related to business unit developments, such as new products, new customers, new applications, case histories, etc.; manages pitching and placement of stories about the business units in trade publications. Develops and edits technical papers for publication in the trade press.
  • Is an active member of the communications team, working collaboratively to foster creativity, generate ideas, and develop new initiatives to further engage the organization.
  • Keep abreast of emerging marketing trends, communications tools and industry best-practices to leverage and communicate value propositions to the commercial teams.
  • Be a steward of the Ingevity brand by ensuring that all communications meet brand guidelines.

What you need to succeed

  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate or agency marketing communications. Specialty chemical market experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
  • Extremely strong writing and communications skills and demonstrated ability to write blog posts, news releases, brochures and advertising copy.
  • Extremely strong project management skills; detail oriented, self-starter; ability to manage multiple projects at once under tight deadlines.
  • Proven knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn the markets in which Ingevity operates and the marketing needs of each business.
  • Experience with, and strong understanding of social media marketing practices and strategies. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
