The Ingevity Performance Materials Quality Director oversees management of quality and reliability systems and standards for global operations and product development. This includes identifying and managing product quality standards to ensure that needs of Ingevity customers are effectively met. Ensure that quality risks at global manufacturing sites and warehouses are understood, and that systems are in place to mitigate and eliminate. Manage and coordinate uniform standards between operating facilities, technical labs, and contract manufacturing sites.

How you will impact Ingevity

  • Lead quality personnel safety standards and culture. Responsible for product safety and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate global organization wide commitment to quality. Ensure customer specific requirements are being met, and determine customer satisfaction.
  • Define roles and responsibilities of quality systems at all manufacturing sites, contract manufacturing sites, 3rd party warehouses, and testing labs. This includes standardization of testing protocols, data integrity, and effective auditing standards.
  • Define and document quality process owners, interactions and linkages, metrics and monitoring protocols, and use of data for continuous improvements.
  • Define roles and responsibilities of quality leadership at all levels ensuring that adequate and effective systems are in place to ensure sufficient communication and rapid response to address issues.
  • Ensure that business, technical, and operating facilities are meeting the requirements of ISO9001, and IATF 16949.
  • Ensure a process of evidence based decision making is in place to utilize data to ensure risks and opportunities are identified to work toward continual improvement of products and processes.
  • Oversee external and internal quality auditing standards. Utilize data to share across sites, and to use for continual process improvements. Provide support for site audits, coordination and follow up on action items.
  • Provide oversight to complaint system process to ensure timely responses and effective corrective actions are being put in place to eliminate repeat issues.

What you need to succeed

  • Degree in engineering or applied science preferred or related experience in a quality systems leadership role in technical and operational role.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience in technical and manufacturing environment.
  • Good organizational leadership, and ability to drive improvements through driving accountability at all levels of organization.
  • Strong track record in continuous improvement in the areas of quality, safety and process improvements.
  • Good planning, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of quality standards ISO 9001, and IATF16949.
  • Strong effective communicator at all levels of organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 25%-50%.
